Developer Education Specialist

Class Central, the “TripAdvisor for online education,” is the most popular search engine for online courses. Over 100 million global learners trust us to find their next course.

Our mission is simple: to make online education work for everyone.

We started in 2011 as a small side project to list free Stanford courses. Today, we’re still independent and bootstrapped, and that helps us prioritize learners over profits.

We aggregate courses from many providers to make it easy to find the best courses on almost any subject, wherever they exist. Whatever you are interested in learning, it is more than likely that our catalog includes a course that will meet your needs.

Beyond our extensive course catalog, we publish The Report, where we analyze online education platforms, share course reviews and personal learning experiences, and dive into online learning trends.

We specialize in evaluating educational companies, analyzing their performances, and exploring how their decisions impact learners. Our insights have been featured in The New York Times, Fast Company, Inc, Venture Beat, and EdSurge, among other publications.

Our team works from all over the world — USA, Australia, Brazil, India, and we are bound by our passion for online education.

Together, we’ve taken over 400 online courses and earned several online degrees. We’ve seen how online learning can change lives, and we want to help millions transform with it.

To do this, we’re hiring people from anywhere in the world to help us build the future of online learning.

This is a deeply technical, hands-on role suited only for candidates who regularly engage with technology, coding, cybersecurity, or software development.

Have you built software, set up servers, configured tools, or completed technical certifications? Apply!

This role is for the ultimate online learner. If you have taken many online courses and know the major learning platforms well, we would like to hear from you.

Class Central is the most popular search engine for online courses, helping 100+ million learners find their next course. We also publish The Report, the most widely read publication on online education.

We want to be the most trusted place to find online courses—like a Consumer Reports or Wirecutter for online learning. To do that, we need to create guides that clearly recommend the best courses for learning any tech skill.

This is where you come in.

We’re looking for a writer and researcher who is also a tech enthusiast. You’ll help people learn complex skills by testing advanced courses and writing guides that show them the best way forward.

Budget for this role is upto $2500. Higher for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, write, and pitch articles about learning technical subjects
  • Take and evaluate courses on specialized technical topics like LangChain, DevSecOps, Nginx, Pen-Testing, and many others
  • Create “best course” guides that help learners start learning and stop procrastinating (our tagline for Best Course Guides)
  • Add charts, images, and clean layouts to make your guides easy to read

About You

  • A natural learner and polyglot. You enjoy digging into new subjects, tools, and even programming languages.
  • A clear writer. You can break down difficult ideas for people who are just starting out.
  • Proficient with the command line. You’re comfortable using the terminal for more than just the basics
  • Self-directed. You manage your own time well and can drive your own projects in a remote team.

Our AI policy

  • AI can speed you up, but it can’t do the job for you.
  • If you need AI to handle the research or the writing, this role isn’t for you.
  • AI can’t spot the best courses. You have to find and test them yourself.
